PESHAWAR, Jan 14: The All Teachers Association (ATA), Karak, has criticized the provincial minister for industries, law and parliamentary affairs, Malik Zafar Azam, over the recent transfers in the district education department.

A statement issued by ATA president Malik Noor Wali Khan here on Monday claimed that the transfers made on the orders of the provincial minister were aimed at victimizing a few officials.

The executive district officer (education) Bashir Ahmad was transferred from Karak to Peshawar as he had refused to drop an inquiry against a teacher and release her salary, which was stopped over the teacher’s continuous absence from duty for two years, it added.

The statement further said that the district council had also passed a resolution against the transfer of the EDO (education) and had recommended to the minister to reverse the order.
