RAWALPINDI, Dec 28: A man was shot dead and three other persons were injured here on Friday. The Ratta police said Atif Abbasi along with his seven accomplices attacked Babar Khan, Alug Khan, Jamil Ahmed and Sajjad Ali in the Dhoke Darzian locality. As a result, Babar Khan died on the spot.

The injured were taken to the District Headquarters Hospital where they were out of danger.

Police said Babar and Atif had quarrelled over a petty issue about four days back.

On Friday, Babar along with the three other persons was sitting in a private school building in the street when Atif and his accomplices reached there and opened fire on them.

Police sub-inspector Afzal Hussain, who is leading the murder investigation, said the accused and the victims were friends but they had a brawl over a petty issue that led to the murder.

He said efforts were underway to arrest the alleged killers.
