GETTING bored by watching daily monotonous talk shows at prime time and fed up by untimely, as well as prolonged, advertisement breaks between the Pakistani dramas, I was lured by the slogan of watching uninterrupted dramas by a channel.

I watched a Turkish soap Ishq-i-Mamnoo, now a household name.

I appreciate the acting, locations, music, title song, theme, story, interior designing and, above all, exceptional dubbing. Recently, I watched on some TV channels discussions about the different aspect of this new trend in entertainment on television in Pakistan.

I think dramas like Ishq-i-Mamnoo are made once in a while and it is not necessary that other dubbed dramas would also be as successful.

There should be no cultural worries or fears; instead we all should try to raise our standards in all fields by learning something or anything new. Let the people of Pakistan decide. Do not underestimate viewers who know very well when and what they like to watch and how much is enough.
