MANSEHRA, Jan 12: Tehsil Nazim Nawabzada Mohammed Farooq Khan has said that the tehsil council will not fall prey to blackmailing and pressure tactics.

Speaking at a session of the tehsil council on Saturday the Nazim said that they would fulfil their obligations and work for the uplift of the area.

Some miscreants were busy in baseless propaganda against the tehsil municipal administration, he said and claimed that the income of the council was spent honestly and judiciously.

He said that the amount saved from the expenditure was being utilized on the developmental projects.

Mr Khan criticizing those who were against the licence fee, professional tax and other taxes said that the taxes help the Tehsil council to initiate developmental work.

About the fruit and vegetable market he said that the present market at the Karakoram Highway had become a constant nuisance for the people due to traffic jam and other civic problems.

He informed the session that a committee had been constituted to locate a site and immediately begin construction of the market.

The members of the tehsil council also reposed full confidence in the leadership of the Tehsil Nazim during the session, which was presided over by Naib Nazim Ejaz Akhtar Khan.
