KARACHI, Jan 11: Zahid Ali’s late second half strike guided Allahdad Mohammadan to a 2-1 victory over Baloch Youth in the All-Pakistan Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto football tournament at Shafi Stadium Sunday.

After a goalless first half, Allahdad Mohammadan broke the deadlock in the 55th minute when Mohammad Aslam Sr dodged past two defenders to slam home the first.

The game was put on an even keel five minutes later after a Mohammad Faisal goal that came off following a Ashiq Ali pass. Zahid struck in the 70th minute after being set up by Mohammad Aslam to give his side full points.

National Bank banged home three times before the breather and once in the second session to overcome a fighting Azad Eleven 4-2.

Ismail Ghulam and Misbahuddin played key roles as both nodded home twice. Ismail pumped in his first after some hard work by Nasir Ismail in the 10th minute, and got his second off a Asghar Ali pass in the 25th minute.

Substitute Misbah came into action in 40th and blasted home his second off a Shamim Akhtar cross in the 65th minute to make it 4-0.

Azad Eleven staged a comeback to reduce the margin in the 80th minute through a Mahmood Raza free kick and added another when Ghulam Mustafa Sr capitalised a Mohammad Akhtar pass five minutes before time.
