ISLAMABAD, Dec 15: Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry has directed the management of the Federal Judicial Academy to ensure that Federal University of Law and Judicial Administration resumed its functioning at the earliest.

He expressed these views while presiding over the 37th meeting of the board of governors of FJA here on Saturday.

The chief justice directed the management of the academy to acquire additional land for the university because the existing plot would not be enough for the project.

About welfare of the FJA employees, he said: “There should be a promotion channel for them. Why should someone appointed in one grade remain in the same grade for whole life? There must be career development avenues in the academy.”

The chief justice said we have to promote a working culture for the expeditious dispensation of justice in the country.—A Reporter
