LAHORE, Dec 10: A guard of a private security company looted Rs21 million from his company’s cash van outside a bank on Ferozepur Road in Ichhra police precincts on Monday.

The police say the cash van of Phoenix Armour Security Company came to Faysal Bank’s Ichhra branch to get cash at around 6pm. Two security guards went inside the bank, while the third, Muhammad Ramzan, stayed in the van along with the driver. The driver left the van for toilet, providing Ramzan an opportunity to loot the cash.

As the two security guards came out of the bank, they found Ramzan and five cash bags missing and informed the company as well as the police.

Senior police officials reached the scene and gathered details about the incident.

Police teams were formed to trace Ramzan, a resident of Chunian in the Kasur district.

DIG (Operations) Rai Tahir said Ramzan had been deployed for security of cash and a case had been registered against him.

ROBBERY: Some robbers barged in the house of Fazal in Canal View Society in Mustafa Town police precincts and took away cash and valuables worth Rs3 million.
