A LARGE number of accidents occur every year in Pakistan in which many precious lives, property and assets of this country are lost.

The authorities do not seem to take such incidents seriously, nor do they have the capacity to look into the problem adequately.

I feel it is primarily due to the fact that there are no professional investigators in the government to find out the reasons of accidents such as fire eruption in houses, shops, plazas, shopping centres, public places, etc, and hence they are not able to suggest any preventive measures for the future.

However, in the Pakistan Air Force, there is an extremely good system of accident investigation, especially in the case of an aircraft-related incident like air crash, engine or structural problem/failure in the air or on the ground etc in which the accident is investigated by dedicated and trained professionals which later bring up a solution or advice to the concerned on how to avoid such accidents in the future.

I would, therefore, suggest the government should learn from our air force and have a proper accident investigation system so that such accidents could be avoided to save precious lives and assets of the people and the country.

Merging for what?

Merging for what?

The concern is that if the government is thinking of cutting costs through the merger, we might even lose the functionality levels we currently have.
