KARACHI: Six people lost their lives in different incidents of violence in Karachi whereas enraged protestors set alight five cars on Rashid Minhas road, DawnNews reported.

One person died of gunshot wounds after unknown gunmen opened fire on a car on the Abul Hasan Ispihani road. The deceased was identified as Maulana Ismael, a teacher at the Jamia Ahsan-ul-Uloom, a well-known seminary in the city's Gulshan-i-Iqbal Block 2 area.

Fear and panic gripped the area as an enraged mob took to the streets after the incident and burnt five cars on Rashid Minhas road.

Protestors ransacked a CNG station near Gulshan Chowrangi and resorted to pelting stones as traffic was temporarily disrupted in the vicinity.

Police sources claimed to have reached the affected areas and taken into custody several protestors.

In an unrelated incident, two bodies were found stuffed in gunny bags near Al-Asif square in Karachi's Sohrab Goth area.

Another person was killed by gunfire in Karachi's Bilal Colony area of Korangi.

Two people were killed in the city's Orangi Town area near its Sabri Chowk. Both victims were identified as activists of a political party.

Furthermore, one person was injured in a firing incident in Karachi's Quaidabad area.
