KARACHI, Dec 1: Paceman Sajid Ali Pechuho produced a devastating spell of bowling to spearhead Sindh High Court Green into the semi-finals of the New A.J. Sports Multinational Champions League Twenty 20 cricket tournament with an eight-wicket victory over Total Oil at the Young Fighters Cricket Ground here on Saturday.
Sajid proved simply unplayable for the hapless Total Oil side, which managed a paltry total of 84 in 15.4 overs after electing to bat first upon winning the toss, as he returned startling figures of five wickets for just 10 runs in three overs.
Slow left-armer Raju was also in top form as he snared four wickets or 25 in four overs. Three of his victims were stumped by Mohammad Ibrahim, the Sindh High Court Green skipper and wicket-keeper. Ibrahim, in fact, had a memorable outing as he held two catches to finish with five dismissals in the match.
Sindh High Court Green, who needed to win the match to qualify for the knockout phase, required 13.2 overs to reach their target. In the end, they made 86-2 with Muzammil Khan scoring an unbeaten 38 with the help of three boundaries and two sixes.
Abdul Asif also batted well to strike four fours in his 25, while Tanvir Khan contributed an undefeated 20 with a brace of boundaries included.
Sindh High Court Green finished second behind Macter Pharma with two wins in three matches.
Summarised scores: TOTAL OIL 84 in 15.4 overs (Sajid Ali Pechuho 5-10, Raju 4-25); SINDH HIGH COURT GREEN 86-2 in 13.2 overs (Muzammil Khan 38 not out, Abdul Asif 25, Tanvir Khan 20 not out).
