KARACHI: After struggling to replicate his scoring feats in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) with Pakistan’s national team in the tour of Singapore, Kaleemullah would be hoping to find his scoring boots when he leads the Pakistan U23 side in the Mahinda Rajapaksa Trophy in Sri Lanka.

KRL’s Kaleemullah, PPFL’s top-scorer with 22 goals was named captain of the team with NBP midfielder Faisal Iqbal his deputy as Pakistan rounded of preparations for the tournament in which they will be up against hosts Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and the Maldives.

The team will leave for Sri Lanka on Saturday for the tournament which runs from Dec 3 to 9 as Pakistan look to form a team capable of challenging for honours at the South Asian Games, likely to be held in September 2013.

Squad: Kaleemullah (captain), Faisal Iqbal (vice-captain), Saddam Hussain, Saqib Hanif, Jahangir Khan, Muzammil Hussain, Naveed Ahmed, Mohsin Ali, Ahsanullah, Ghulam Fareed, Mohammad Hamid, Mohammad Salman, Sher Mohammad, Mohammad Adil, Zia-us-Salam, Bilawal Rehman, Hasnain Abbas, Mahmood Khan, Zakir Lashari, Saeed Ahmed.
