KARACHI: Pakistan No 1 Mohammad Asif rounded off his league matches on a winning note with a resounding 4-1 triumph over Israel’s Shachar Ruberg in the last Group H match of the IBSF world snooker championship at Sofia, Bulgaria, on Wednesday.

According to results made available here, he brushed aside the challenge from his opponent while notching up 80-26, 81-6, 34-75, 71-58, 57-37 victory to maintain his unbeaten run and top the group.

Following the footsteps of Asif, his compatriot Asjad Iqbal cruised to 4-1 victory over Canada’s Tom Finstad in the third group P match to stay unbeaten.

Asjad was home 83-30, 43-57, 95-24, 53-11, 49-14.

He is due to face Hong Kong’s Chi Wai Au in the last fixture Wednesday evening.
