KARACHI, Nov 28: The Asian Confederation of Billiards Sports (ACBS) has appointed Pakistan’s international A grade referee Shabbir Hussain Daruwala as a member on Asian panel and examiner for South Asia region.

Shabbir, 60, is the first World Professional Billiards and Snooker Association (WPBSA) certified coach in Pakistan. He was declared successful following a course conducted by six-time world snooker champion Steve Davis, Chris Lovell and Andrew Green at Bangkok earlier this year.

The South Asian region comprises Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Maldives, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka.

It is pertinent to mention that he had over two decade experience under his belt which among others includes supervising matches at nine IBSF world snooker championships, 13 Asian snooker championships, technical official at three Asian Games (Bhutan, Qatar and Guangzhou) and Asian indoor at Macao.—Sports Correspondent
