KARACHI, Jan 8: The Board of Secondary Education, Karachi, on Wednesday announced the results of Secondary School certificate (SSC), supplementary examinations (Science and General groups)- 2002, with an overall pass percentage of 62.39.

According to the BSE statistics, in all, 40,272 candidates, including 16,902 females, were registered for examinations in the science and general groups, out of which 24,220, including 10,626 females were declared successful in the exam.

As many as 24,641 candidates took the science group exam, out of which 15,501 were declared to have passed. Of the 14,177 regular and private candidates in the general group exams, 8,719 were declared to have passed.

The gradewise breakdown of the successful candidates is as follows:

Science;

A-1 grade-2, A grade-44, B grade-905, C grade-5,316, D grade-8,563 and E grade-659.

General group;

A-1 grade-nil, A grade-4 only, B Grade-111, C grade-1,757, D grade-5,625 and E grade-1,218.

Results of 192 candidates were withheld on account of using unfair means, their cases would be decided later, the BSE notification said.
