LARKANA, Nov 23: A woman identified as Ms Zeenat Khatoon Lashari was killed in village Ahmed Lashari on the outskirts of Ratodero in the wee hours of Friday.

According to police, one Zamir Hussain, a close relative of the deceased, shot her dead when she delayed in preparing food for Sehri.

Sarwar Lashari, the dead woman’s father, has registered an FIR with Ratodero police against Zamir Hussain Lashari who is still at large.

She has been killed on the pretext of ‘Karo-Kari’, another source told this correspondent. About one and a half month back, the brother of the deceased had killed Muhammed Panah Jalbani on the same charges. After that murder, she had taken shelter in the house of her grandfather where she was killed on Friday.

Meanwhile, angry villagers from “Agham-2” village on Friday blocked Larkana-Ratodero road at Wassand Shakh, some 15km off here, protesting over the kidnapping of a student.

Allauddain Halipto, a SSC part-II student was kidnapped some 20 days back from the village but the police has failed to recover him.

Shuaban Abro and Qalandar Bakhsh Abro led the protest.

The villagers erected barricades, burnt tyres and disturbed vehicular traffic for about half an hour.

The SSP Ghulam Nabi Memon arrived at the scene and told protestors about police efforts at recovering the student and got the blockade cleared.

The DSP Ratodero has almost reached close to the kidnappers and the victim could be recovered at any moment.

INQUIRY ORDERED: Larkana District Nazim Khursheed Junejo on Friday ordered inquiry into the alleged missing of a 13-day old child from Chandka Medical College Children Hospital and for a case to be registered.
