ATTOCK, Nov 23: The 8th Muharram’s procession was brought out from Imambargah Punjtani on Friday by Anjumane Janisaran-i-Hussain.

The Azadars recited Nohas, performed flagellation and offered Zuhrain at Fawwara Chowk.

Addressing the mourners, a member Council of Islamic Ideology, Allama Agha Ali Hussain Madni said that Karbala gave a message of upholding truth and righteousness.

“Hazart Imam Hussain (AS) is a symbol of unique philosophy and way of life which draws a line between noble and evil forces,” he further said. The Karbala was a battle between devilish forces of Yazidiat and righteousness of Hussainiat, he maintained.

However, it is the need of the hour to promote unity and religious harmony among their ranks aimed at foiling the designs of anti-Islam forces, he urged.

Later on, the procession after passing through its traditional routes ended peacefully at Imambargah Hussania Attock cantonment in the evening. Following the recent terrorism incidents, the law enforcement agencies have made unprecedented security arrangements for the peaceful holding of processions.

All roads leading to the venue of the procession were fenced with barbed wire and elite force and Rangers were manning them.

The personnel of intelligence agencies also accompanied the procession to keep an eye on outlaws and troublemakers.

Earlier in morning, the district police officer Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi and other officials of law enforcement agencies kept visiting the Imambargahs and procession’s route.

Sabeels of water, milk and stalls of langer were also set up by the procession organisers to facilitate the mourners.
