Two fall prey to rivalry

SARGODHA, Nov 23: Two persons were shot dead while as many sustained injuries when their rivals targeted them in front of a civil judge’s court in Bhalwal on Thursday.

Shaikh Muhammad Ali party and Aslam Tatri’s appeared in the court of Rana Aftab. On returning, Ali and his accomplices opened firing on Tatri’s party which was returned. Ali and Ghulam Murtaza died on the spot while Aslam Tatri and Nasrullah sustained injuries. The injured were admitted to hospital.

Police have arrested Nasrullah Cheema.

DEATH SENTENCE: Additional district and sessions judge Zafar Abbas has awarded death sentence to five convicts of Chacner-Sharif in a Hudood case.

Ali Muhammad, Asghar Hayat, Qadiryar, lumberdar Yousaf and Bashir Ali abducted a woman in 1996 and kept her for several months. The woman gave birth to an illegitimate child.

The woman’s father, with the connivance of the lumberdar, filed a complaint against her and her husband which was dismissed by the court.

Shahpur police challaned the culprits and the judge awarded life term to Ali Muhammad, Qadiryar and Asghar Hayat. Three of the convicts fled from the court on hearing decision.
