LAHORE, Nov 19: The provincial police chief on Monday appointed Senior Superintendent of Police Sarfraz Ahmad Falki as Pakpattan District Police Officer against an existing vacancy.

Mr Falki was working as Lahore administration SSP.

The Pakpattan DPO slot has been lying vacant for the last few days after SP Jehanzaib Nazir Khan was transferred and relieved by the Punjab government for Gilgit-Baltistan.

Earlier, Mr Falki’s summary was moved to the Chief Minister’s Secretariat for the post of Lodhran DPO slot but he could not get appointed there.

Mr Falki of 27th Common has served as Lahore and Faisalabad SSP (Operations) and Lahore and Faisalabad Chief Traffic Officer.

After postings of Attock and Vehari DPOs last Friday and of Pakpattan on Monday, all districts in the province have got police heads.

A police source told Dawn the PML-N led government was planning to transfer a few DPOs soon after Moharram 10.

He said it was likely that a majority of the DPOs who had completed a year at a station would be transferred.
