LAHORE, Nov 18: Robbers and thieves plundered cash and valuables worth approximately Rs5.5 million in eight major hits in the city on Sunday.

Two robbers stopped student Shayan Butt in M-Block of Faisal Town, injured him with butt of guns and deprived him of cash, a cell phone and four USBs. Faisal Town police are dealing the case.

Some thieves broke into the house of Saudi-returned Riaz on Pir Ghazi Road in Ichhra police limits and made off with 57 tola gold ornaments, 7,000 Saudi Riyals and other valuables.

Four robbers barged into the house of Muhammad Arham in Baghbanpura police limits and took away cash and valuables worth Rs600,000.

Some robbers stormed into the house of Muhammad Fareed in Sundar police precincts and escaped after looting cash and valuables worth Rs500,000.

Some robbers burst into the house of Muhammad Zarif in Shahdra Town police jurisdiction and looted cash and valuables worth Rs400,000.

Two robbers approached Rafique and his family in Islampura police limits and robbed them of cash and valuables worth Rs200,000.

Two robbers waylaid Ikraam in Ichhra area and snatched Rs13,000, a cell phone and a motorcycle.

Two robbers stopped Khalid in Shadbagh police limits and made off with Rs70,000 and a cell phone.

EXPLOSIVES SEIZED: Panic gripped the participants when an unknown caller informed the police emergency 15 about a bomb in a Majlis-i-Aza being held at a house in Imamia Colony of Ferozwala area on Sunday.

The caller informed the police that the bomb had been placed under the stage. The officials of the bomb disposal squad conducted a thorough search.

According to TV channel reports, some explosives were seized from the spot, however the local police denied it.
