MANSEHRA, Nov 17: A local court on Saturday remanded in custody one of the two people arrested for threatening to kill a civil judge by blowing up the court building earlier this week.

The other was granted bail, however. The Oghi police produced the two, Mohammad Amir and Hayat Mohammad, before Civil Judge Naeemullah.

A police team led by Circle Officer Makhdoom Shah had arrested Amir in Peshawar and Hayat in Swabi the other day.

Investigation Officer Manzoor Khan later told reporters that Hayat used the Computerised National Identity Card of the co-accused, Amir, to purchase a cellphone SIM card before using it to threaten to Civil Judge, Oghi Nasir Khan.

He said the court granted bail to Amir after finding that he was not part of the crime court. The investigation officer said he could reveal why Hayat threatened to kill the judge only after the investigation was over.
