HYDERABAD, Nov 16: Sindh Taraqqi-pasand Students Federation has held Sindh Minister for Education Pir Mazharul Haq responsible for deterioration of education in the province.

The student organisation which met here on Friday with its head Dr Ahsan Panwhar in the chair rejected as a pack of lies a statement given by the minister which said the government was working on a war footing to provide education to all children in the province. The meeting said the minister might not even know the exact number of schools in his own constituency and the number of schools turned into ‘autaqs’ by feudal lords.

“Is this a pro or anti-education policy that Sindhi students can not get education in Karachi’s institutions,” said participants of the meeting.

HUNGER STRIKE: STP activists continued hunger strike against the local government law on the 41st consecutive day here on Friday.

STP leaders Qadir Channa and Muzaffar Kalhoro who led the hunger strikers said that rulers were celebrating instead of listening to the voice of people who had rejected the LG law in Sindh.
