KARACHI, Nov 14: Nomi Qamar clinched the men’s singles title at the Subh- e-Nau tennis championships after beating Syed Zohair Raza 7-5, 6-2 at the KMC Complex here on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Dawar Rehan found tough resistance from Murad Khan in boys U-18 semi-final before winning 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) to set up a title clash with Aqeel Shabbir who overcame Marib Malik 6-4, 6-2 in the other last-four clash.

Dawar also reached the final of the Boys U-14 event after beating Bilal Imran Lohya 6-2, 6-0 in the semi-final and will face Marib, who beat Raza Sawani 6-3, 6-3, in the title clash.

Maheen Dada and Hania Naveed reached the semi-finals of the ladies singles event after registering an identical 6-0, 6-0 triumphs against Kinza Ghanchi and Neha Khan respectively.—PPI
