LAHORE: Ten people lost their lives in various traffic accidents caused by low visibility as most parts of Punjab, including Lahore came under thick fog cover on Wednesday, DawnNews reported.

Many cities of Punjab including Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Lahore, Mandi Bahauddin, Sahiwal and Bahawalnagar were blanketed by fog, reducing the visibility in some areas to zero.

Motorists were facing hardships as the low visibility caused various traffic accidents.

A collision between a coach and a pickup killed five people and injured 13 others near Bahawalpur.

A mother and daughter were killed and eight others were injured in another mishap on Khanewal Road in Vehari.

Another accident injured 20 people in Ghazi Ghat area in Dera Ghazi Khan.

Three students were killed when a school van collided with a truck in Gujranwala. Three other students were critically wounded who were rushed to a nearby hospital.

The motorway from Lahore to Sheikhupura was closed for traffic whereas the visibility on the motorway between Thokar Niaz Baig-Babu Sabu and Pindi Bhattian-Faisalabad was reduced to zero.
