RAWALPINDI, Nov 13: Good news for commuters: 6th Road Fly over project would be completed by the end of December, rather than the cut off date which was January 10, next year.
The widening of Adiala Road from Kalial union council office to Government Housing Foundation colony has been completed.
This was informed in a meeting held in Commissioner’s office, under the chairmanship of Commissioner Imdadullah Bosal, attended by MPAs Malik Iftikhar Ahmed and Raja Mohammad Hanif Advocate, Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Director-General (DG) Ch Naseer Ahmed, Punjab Highways Superintendent Engineer Farhat Munir, Executive District Officer Health Dr Zafar Iqbal Gondal and Deputy Managing Director Wasa Akram Soban.
It was also informed that Chairman Railways had been contacted to start the widening of Marir Chowk Bridge, so that it could be completed within the stipulated period.
Additionally, Rs8 million would be transferred to Wasa for the shifting of sewerage lines from the 6th Road Flyover project area.
Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) DG Ch Naseer Ahmed informed that the feasibility study of Leh Nullah project had started on the directions of Punjab Government and it would be completed soon.
The meeting also reviewed the other ongoing development projects of Punjab Highways, Public Health and Engineering Department (PHED), Wasa and Small Dams Department.
The Commissioner directed the concerned authorities that these projects should be completed within the stipulated time period and the progress report be submitted to the Commissioner’s office by December 1.
The contractors found involved in any negligence should be proceeded against, according to the law, he said.
