CHARSADDA, Nov 11: The Charsadda police recovered a boy kidnapped for ransom and arrested a kidnapper during a raid here on Sunday.

SHO Tangi police station Noorullah told a press conference that the police raided a hideout in the Sra Makha locality and recovered the boy, Peer Shah Faisal. He said the kidnappers had demanded ransom of Rs8 million for the release of the boy.

The police said Shah Faisal, who was a student of class four in a private school, was kidnapped on October 31 when he was going to school. His father Peer Yousuf Jan had lodged a report with the Tangi police station soon after the kidnapping of his son.

Police said the raid was conducted on the hideout after the police traced the kidnappers with the help of mobile phones. The police also arrested a kidnapper, Rafiullah, and continued raids for the arrest of his accomplices.—Correspondent
