LAHORE, Nov 10: Justice Manzoor Ahmad Malik of the Lahore High Court on Saturday directed the Punjab government to submit details about prisoners released on parole.

Justice Malik passed this order on an application filed by Yaqoob Ahmad, seeking arrest the killers of petitioner’s brother.

The petitioner said the accused, Asim, killed his brother and the court handed him 10-year imprisonment.

However, he said, the convict was released on parole after some time. The applicant said the convict’s release on parole was illegal.

He requested the court to direct the police to arrest the convict again.

After hearing the contention, the judge admitted the application and sought a detailed report from the government on all the prisoners released on parole.

Further hearing will be held on Dec 8.
