KARACHI: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has decided to move a resolution against the newly passed Sindh Peoples Local Government Ordinance 2012 in the National Assembly and the Senate.

This was announced by Zain Ansari, chairman of the fact-finding committee of PML-N Sindh chapter, during a press conference on Saturday at the Muslim League House. Marvi Memon, Kheal Das Kohistani, Haji Shafi Jamote and other committee members were also present on the occasion.

Ansari, while briefing the media representatives about the meeting, said the committee has decided to resist against new local government system through legal process and public gatherings.

He said in this regard not only seminars and demonstrations will be held across the province but copies of controversial sections of the act translated in regional languages will also be distributed among the masses for their awareness.

The PML-N is of the opinion that SPLGO has been passed only to serve the interests of two parties in the province, said Ansari.

He said by enforcing the system the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has put integrity of the province on stake, adding the PPP has insulated the people’s mandate.

The PML-N leader vowed to restore the old system of five districts in Karachi, once elected to rule the province.

Marvi Memon on the occasion said the PPP can not use ‘Sindh card’ anymore and claimed that the PML-N will struggle for the Sindh cause and will raise voice for peoples’ rights in the province.
