LAHORE, Oct 29: Six people, including a couple and a police official, were murdered in five incidents in the provincial capital during Eid holidays.

Factory Area police said 30-year-old Hafiz Imran and his 28-year-old wife, Kiran, were found murdered in their house in Railway Officers Colony on the first day of Eid. However, their four-year-old son, Hasan, was found alive in another room.

Police inquiries showed that Imran of Faisalabad, who runs a printing press, had been living along with his wife and son in the house of his father-in-law who lives in Canada.

Kiran’s brother Yousaf along with his family reached Lahore from Saudi Arabia in the morning and failed to establish a telephone contact with Imran.

When the maid reached the house in the morning, she found the main gate opened and the couple lying dead in the drawing room. The police said it appeared that the victims knew the killer(s).

The police registered a case against unidentified suspect(s).

Factory Area ASP Dr Farrukh Raza said the police found no sign of forced entry into the property and they were also awaiting autopsy report to determine the nature of the weapon used in the murder.

He said the motive behind the murder was still unclear. He said the suspect(s) searched some drawers in an attempt to force the police to think about the possibility of a robbery.

Raiwind City police said ASI Khalil Ahmad, 45, was gunned down allegedly by the rivals of his brother in Arayan Mor area on Saturday.

A father of two Khalil, who was posted in Lahore Police Lines, was attacked by Naula and accomplices Hanif, Waqas and Rehmat. Khalil’s brother had earlier murdered the father of prime suspect Naula and his brothers on Eid day in the past.

Both sides had developed a property dispute which led to the murders.

Burki police said a security guard of the Defence Housing Authority was killed in a clash between security staff and some land grabbers in Phularwan village.

Rana Naeem, a former councilor, and his accomplices Asghar, Shabbir and Fiaz were trying to occupy the authority’s land by constructing a wall when they were confronted with security staff.

Guard Naseer Ahmad of Jhelum was killed in firing by the grabbers.

The police registered a case against eight people on the complaint of security manager Maj Kamran Raza (retired).Kahna police said Yaqoob was shot dead by his rivals in Kacha village.

Yaqoob, who was standing at a shop, was attacked by Allah Wasaya, Akhtar, Rashid and three unidentified accomplices.

Yaqoob developed an enmity with Wasaya after the former injured his brother.

Harbanspura police said 16-year-old Burhan of Jallo Mor was found electrocuted at his father’s confectionary unit.

Burhan left home a day before Eid and didn’t return, but his body was found in a nearby factory in early hours.

The police couldn’t establish whether the teenager was electrocuted accidentally or he was killed with electric shocks.

A murder case was registered on the complaint of victim’s brother Rawal Khan who initially had lodged a kidnap case.
