ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaaf Chairman Imran Khan has advised Afghan President Hamid Karzai to take into confidence all factions and groups for a political solution to the problems in Afghanistan.

“Innocent people are suffering because of drone attacks and the ongoing war in Afghanistan. We must devise a joint strategy to end violence and war,” Mr Khan said in a letter sent to the Afghan president.

It was written in reply to Mr Karzai’s letter.

The PTI chief said the people of Afghanistan and Pakistan should make joint efforts to end poverty, deprivation and ignorance by the region. He said his party would support all efforts aimed at restoring peace and reconciliation in the war-torn country.

“All groups and factions should be taken into confidence to find a political solution to the war in Afghanistan. It is the need of the hour,” Mr Khan said, adding that each and every person was battered by the war raging in Afghanistan. “It is highly regrettable and shocking and it is time to find a viable solution to save our people from further death and destruction,” he added.
