KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has said that successful staging of the Twenty20 match between Pakistan All Star and International World XI and the huge turnout during the match have sent positive signals.

“It’s sent a positive signal that Pakistan is a safe place for holding international sporting events,” the CM said after the presentation ceremony at the National Stadium here on Saturday night.

It is to be noted that foreign teams have been refusing to tour Pakistan since terrorist attack on the Sri Lankan team in March 2009.

Stating that there should be international events like hockey, football and other sports in Karachi and Pakistan, the CM expressed the hope that foreign teams would be visiting Pakistan to help in resumption of international sports activities.
