ISLAMABAD: US Special Envoy Marc Grossman has praised Pakistan’s role in stabilising the political process in Afghanistan. He said that Pak-US cooperation should continue on the matters of anti-terrorism and the border issues.

This was said in a statement issued by Grossman after concluding his two-day visit of Pakistan.

He said that the US, Pakistan and Afghanistan were working on new strategies to bring stability in the region through mutual cooperation of the working groups.

The US Special envoy said that Pakistan and the US had constructive talks in a friendly and pleasant environment. He said that these kinds of talks are necessary for maintaining understanding on the issues of cross-border cooperation, security, economy and overall situation of the region.

Ambassador Grossman was on a two-day visit of Pakistan, during which he held meetings with Foreign Minister Hina Rabbani Khar and Army Chief General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani.
