Army remain unbeaten

ISLAMABAD, Jan 1: Defending champions Pakistan Army, POF, Police and WAPDA won their respective matches in the 38th National Volleyball championship at Pakistan Ordnance Factories Sports complex Wah Cantt. on Wednesday.

Pakistan Army brushed aside Punjab 25-21,25-20,25-21, POF downed PAF 25-22, 28-30, 25-22, 25-19, Police outclassed NWFP 25-14, 25-19, 25-18 and Wapda prevailed over Pakistan Navy, also in straight games 25-15, 25-19,25-22.

The second round of the quarterfinals league will be held on Thursday while semifinals of the Championship will be played on Friday.

The final is scheduled for Saturday.—AFP
