LALAMUSA: Minister for Information and Broadcasting Qamar Zaman Kaira on Sunday said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government was utilising all resources to provide facilities to people at their doorsteps as per the vision of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto.

Talking to mediapersons here, he said PPP has started politics of reconciliation to take the country on the road of progress, prosperity and development.

He said it was very difficult for a single party to resolve the problems of people; therefore, grand alliance was formed through political reconciliation.

PPP ended the politics of victimisation in the country, he added.

He said PPP has given the Kharian seat to PML-Q despite the fact that it was the right of PPP to nominate candidate for bye election.

To a question, he said the government respects verdicts of the court.

It is right of the people of the country to elect or reject candidates in next general elections, he added.

He said overseas Pakistanis should be allowed to cast vote and participate in the election.

Kaira said that people living abroad are contributing to the development of country's economy and they are patriotic like anybody else.

He strongly condemned attack on Malala Yousufzai and said that she was daughter of the nation and she raised her voice against illiteracy and extremism.

Moreover, he said that people who are killing innocent people cannot be called Muslims. He said, “People involved in such incidents have nothing to do with Islam and humanity.”

He urged the whole nation to stand united to wipe out extremists from the country. “We have broken the backbone of terrorists,” he remarked.

“We are victims of terrorism and international community now recognizes the fact and our sacrifices in the fight against terrorism,” said Kaira

Further more, he said that PML-N leader Mian Nawaz Sharif had admitted that cases against PPP leadership were politically motivated.

He said PPP government is ready for accountability of its government's four and a half years.

To a question, he said operation in any part of the country would be initiated keeping in view the supreme national interest.
