LAHORE, Jan 1: The city government will computerize 25 per cent of its revenue record by June to enable its licensed property dealers to issue copies of ownership deeds from the next fiscal year.

District Nazim Mian Amer Mahmood stated this while inaugurating the website of Union Council 82 (Islampura) here on Wednesday. It was the first website of any union council in the 106 districts of the country.

He said the software for computerization of the revenue record had already been developed and the process was under way.

The government was making arrangements for setting up 40 computer training centres in the provincial metropolis. It was subsidizing training fees at 10 rural training centres by 50 to 75 per cent. Four centres had been set up for women exclusively.

He said the facility for applying for the issuance of domicile certificate had been already made available on Internet. People could fill the application form on Internet and get the certificate after appearing before the officer concerned. Computerization of the births and deaths record was also under way, he added.

District Naib Nazim Farooq Amjad Mir, MNA Pervez Malik, MPA Ajasam Sharif and Data Ganj Bakhsh Town Naib Nazim Mian Usman also spoke on the occasion.
