Illegal constructions

RAWALPINDI, Oct 13: Town Municipal Administration (TMA) Rawal Town has accelerated its ongoing operation launched against illegal constructions in the city.

The administration demolished four shops and two houses constructed illegally on Friday. Various commercial and residential buildings are being demolished. Despite pressure, no relaxation is being given to anyone and fee in this regard is also being charged in accordance with the rules.

According to Rawal Town spokesman, disciplinary action is also being taken against the enforcement inspectors found involved in illegal activity.

The deputy town officer said the trend to submit building plans for formal approval had gone up due to which enhanced revenue was being collected against map fee charges.

The spokesman said the ongoing operation against illegal constructions in Rawal Town had accelerated on the special instructions of administrator Rawal Town and strict action was being taken against violators of law.

The TMA officials have also been warned to improve their performance otherwise stern action would be taken against those violating the rules, he said. — APP

Dry weather expected

ISLAMABAD, Oct 13: Mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the country while light rain may occur in a few places in Rawalpindi and Gujranwala divisions during the next 24 hours.

Continental air is prevailing over most parts of the country, Met Office reported here on Saturday.

Mainly dry weather is also expected in most parts of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa with light rain in some places of Peshawar and Kohat divisions.

In Sindh hot and dry weather has been predicted in most parts of the province while Balochistan will also see dry weather.Partly cloudy weather is expected with chances of light rain in some parts of Azad Kashmir during the next 24 hours. Partly cloudy weather is also expected in Gilgit-Baltistan. — APP

TAXILA, Oct 13: The theft of official motorcycle from police station cost a sub-inspector his rank.

On July 8, an official motorcycle of constable Mohammad Suleman was stolen from the Jehri Kass police station. Taking serious notice of the issue, district police officer Halal Khan suspended the incharge Sub Inspector Azhar Shah immediately.

As a departmental inquiry found him guilty of dereliction of duty, the DPO demoted him to rank of assistant sub-inspector as a major punishment. — Correspondent
