Saddar Town triumph

KARACHI, Nov 22: Sadiq Sports were once again on the receiving end, when Saddar Town triumphed by 34 runs in the Sixth Danish Trophy Ramazan cricket tournament Thursday the KGA ground.

Winning the toss and batting first, Saddar Town reached 158 for eight wickets in the 20 allotted overs with Iqbal Surti leading the way with a stylish knock of 63. Habib ur Rehman contributed with 24 runs to his credit.

Left-arm spinner Mohammad Akber (3-18) and Sohail Jawed (2-35), were among the wickets for the fielding side. Sadiq Sports in reply were bowled out for 124 in 19.5 overs. Afzal Ayub top scored with 41. For the winners, Siraj Khan (3-19) and Jamshed (3-12) shared the bowling spoils.

Friday’s fixture: Tapal CC v M.Z. Khan CC, KGA ground 1-30 p.m.
