BP to sell refinery

LONDON, Oct 8: British energy group BP on Monday said it had agreed to sell its ill-fated Texas City refinery to the US-based Marathon Petroleum to help fund compensation costs resulting from the 2010 US oil spill disaster. “BP announced today it has reached an agreement to sell its Texas City... refinery and a portion of its retail and logistics network in the southeast US to Marathon Petroleum Corporation for $2.5bn.”—AFP
