PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakthunkhwa Minister for Information and Public Relations, Mian Iftikhar Hussain said on Sunday that provincial government has provided foolproof security to the participants of the “peace march” organised by the Pakistan Tahrik-i-Insaf (PTI.)

Addressing a press conference, he said due to foolproof security provided by the KP government no untoward incident has been reported in the rally.

The provincial minister said taking out peaceful rallies and holding public meetings was the real essence of democracy and the KP government has always facilitated such events.

The Awami National Party (ANP) leader said that the party believed in democracy and rights of people and will support all such moves and rallies meant for the establishment of peace.

The minister rejected the impression of creating hurdles in the march by the provincial government. PTI was fully facilitated in the areas came under jurisdiction of the KP government, he added.

Iftikhar said the ANP has rendered great sacrifices for peace and maintaining law and order situations and is the custodian of non-violence, peace and peoples' rights.

He appreciated D. I. Khan and Tank police for providing foolproof security to the PTI peace march.

He also appreciated the cooperation of the PTI organisers in this regard.
