KARACHI, Sept 30: Sindh’s Umair Alam, a low ranked cueist, hammered first century break as at least four seeded players fell prey to outsiders on the opening day of fourth ranking snooker cup at National Bank of Pakistan Sports Complex on Sunday.

Umair, who shocked eighth seed Sharjeel Mehmood of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 4-0 in the second session, was on song when he piled up break of 114 against national champion and top seed Mohammad Asif in the last session.

But Umair’s joy was short-lived as Asif was home 0-123, 95-1, 64-8, 68-1, 74-6.
