KARACHI, Dec 30: First lady Begum Sehba Musharraf on Monday visited the troops’ families welfare complex in Malir Cantonment and distributed sewing machines and sweets among trainees and children.

Wife of Corps Commander Begum Tariq Waseem Ghazi was also present.

Begum Sehba also visited the centre in the complex where 35 daughters and relatives of army personnel are under training in embroidery, tailoring and knitting.

On arrival, she was received by the wife of General Officer Commanding Maj-Gen Ashraf Saleem. Later Begum Musharraf attended a get-together of the Air Defence Ladies’ Club at Saad Officers Mess.

She urged the organizers to hold more such gatherings in order to increase interaction among the families of army officers. “Such functions should be held on a regular basis to provide a venue for the wives of army officers for interaction,” she added.—APP
