ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Saturday issued notices to several legislators, including Interior Minister Rehman Malik, directing them to appear in the court in dual nationality case on October 3.

According to an SC press release, other than Malik the notices have also been issued to Begum Shehnaz Sheikh and Ghulam Mujtaba Rai.

It appears that the interior minister in his press conference on Sept 20 and 21 had mentioned that if he is asked by the apex court or by the government, he could supply the names of the parliamentarians and members of provincial assemblies, who enjoy dual citizenship. Therefore, he is called upon to assist the court.

The Secretary Information has also been directed to submit transcript of press conference of the interior minister wherein he has made above statement and it was telecasted on TV.
