GHALANAI, Sept 27: Speakers at a function held to mark the World Peace Day urged the tribesmen to play their due role in the restoration of peace in their respective areas.

The function was jointly organised by Fata Secretariat Special Programme (FSSP) and political administration Mohmand Agency.

Through posters, banners and presentations, the students of different schools highlighted efforts being made to restore peace in Mohmand tribal region. Political Agent Adil Siddiq was the chief guest.

Addressing the participants, he urged the people, particularly students and young generation, to work for peace in the area.

KHAR: Bajaur Agency political agent Abdul Jabar Shah said on Thursday peace was vital for sustainable development of tribal areas. He asked tribesmen to continue supporting efforts to maintain peace and stability in the region.

He was speaking at a seminar held in connection with the World Peace Day organised by Fata Secretariat here. The political agent said human development was directly linked to peace.

Mr Shah urged tribesmen to extend support to the government’s efforts to wipe out militancy.

Meanwhile, the Hydro Electric Labour Association associated with Tribal Electric Supply Company, Fata, on Thursday asked the ministry of water and power to fulfill their genuine demands otherwise they would launch a protest campaign.
