LAKKI MARWAT, Sept 25: Speakers at a workshop on Tuesday stressed the importance of implementing the relevant price laws in letter and spirit by the price magistrates to help control prices of daily use commodities.
The one day orientation workshop was arranged by the home department in district council hall at the district headquarters complex Tajazai. District collector Ihsanullah, deputy district officer (revenue) Abdul Kabeer and other price magistrates attended the workshop.
District public prosecutor Attaullah Shah and assistant public prosecutor Attaullah Khan were facilitators at the workshop. They delivered lectures on relevant price control and food laws and the procedure of their implementation.
They also shed light on the jurisdiction of price magistrates and said sufficient knowledge about price control laws and power and responsibilities would enable price magistrates to perform their duty in an efficient manner.
“The price magistrates have to play an important role to control prices of daily use items,” they maintained. The speakers said implementation of price control and food laws would help to overcome the menace of hoarding, profiteering and artificial price hike.
TREE PLANTATION: District and Sessions Judge Mohammad Hamid Mughal launched tree plantation campaign by planting a sapling on the premises of judicial complex Tajazai on Tuesday.
Among others additional sessions judge Rajab Ali Khan, senior civil judge Ghulam Abbas, civil judge Malik Hasnain, member Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Bar Council Haji Zafar Iqbal, general secretary district bar Asif Iqbal, SDFO Mohammad Yaqoob and forest prosecutor Syed Abid Hussain Shah were present on the occasion.
Highlighting the role of forestry sector in the socio economic development of country, Mr Mohammad Hamid Mughal called upon the people from all walks of life to play their role in increasing timberlands.
“Only planting a sapling is not enough, we should ensure proper look after of trees,” he maintained. He said: “By boosting forests we could make environment green and pollution free”.
