ISLAMABAD, Dec 29: Mir Hazar Khan Bajarani, a People’s Party Parliamentarians National Assembly member from Sindh, called on Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali on Sunday.

Political observers were attaching significance to the meeting held a day prior to the prime minister’s seeking vote of confidence from the National Assembly.

Though an official announcement said they discussed matters pertaining to Jacobabad, the observers were not brushing aside the chances that he might join the forward bloc and vote in favour of the prime minister.

The official statement said he apprised the prime minister of the law and order situation in Jacobabad and requested him to take measures in this regard.

The prime minister assured him that his government accorded high priority to the maintenance of law and order.

Sunday proved to be a hectic day for the prime minister as he met a number of members of parliament separately, including Punjab Chief Minister Pervaiz Illahi and the parliamentary leader of Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-i-Azam), Chaudhry Shujaat Husain.

The MNAs in their meetings reposed confidence in Jamali’s leadership and assured him their support in the voting.

Zafarullah Jamali discussed matters pertaining to Punjab with the chief minister. Chaudhry Shujaat, who was present in the meeting, had a detailed discussion about the vote of confidence with the prime minister.

The chief minister assured the PM that all areas of his province would be given their share in the development schemes and his administration would endeavour to reduce the difference between urban and rural areas.

MNA Chaudhry Shabaz from Jhelum discussed matters pertaining to overseas Pakistanis with special reference to the community settled in Saudi Arabia. He commended Prime Minister Jamali for his image abroad.

The prime minister assured him that his government would take steps for the welfare of overseas Pakistanis.

A number of other MNAs, including Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Chaudhry Imranullah, Mehdi Hassan Bhatti and Dr M. Ibrahim Jatoi, called on the prime minister on Saturday.
