HYDERABAD, Sept 24: JUI-F Senator from Balochistan Hafiz Hamdullah has criticised the tribal chieftains of Balochistan, saying that they are backed by the establishment to keep people oppressed.

He was speaking at a dinner hosted in honour of the members of the newly-elected governing body of Hyderabad Press Club by the Hyderabad chapter of JUI-F. Our Khairpur Correspondent adds: General secretary of the Sindh chapter of Jamiat Ulema-i-Islam (JUI) Dr Khalid Mahmood Soomro has asked people not to vote for pro-America candidates in the forthcoming general elections.

He was speaking at a public gathering at Punj Gulla chowk here on Monday in protest against an anti-hate film.

He said that if there was any PPP worker present in the public gathering and listening to him, he should forward his message to the president of Pakistan to cut off ties with the US.

Earlier, a procession was taken out from Madressah Jamia Hamadiya at the station road in Khairpur. It marched through various roads of the city and later gathered at Punj Gulla Chowk Khairpur.

The gathering was also addressed by Moulana Mir Mohammad Meerak, Moulana Siraj Ahmed Amroti, Moulana Abdul Razaque Abd Lakho and others.

Later, Dr Khalid Mahmood Soomro told press reporters that the JUI was part of Sindh Bachayo Committee and it supported every decision and policy of the committee.

Dr Khalid Mahmood Soomro also administered oath to activists of the JUI.
