LAHORE, Sept 23: Four-year-old bay colt Bingo edged out bay filly Dora in a tight finish between three contenders in the supporting event run over 1,200 metres during the Lahore Winter Meeting at the Racecourse here on Sunday.

Under a confident ride from jockey A. Raza, Bingo owned by Mahmood Khan and trained by A.B. Malik came with a well-timed challenge to triumph. He beat Dora by a short-head verdict in photo-finish with filly Bon Voyage, a close third by a neck’s margin.

Earlier, three-year-old bay filly Right One under a confident ride from jockey Shahid Rehman led all the way home to win the feature event, the Mohammad Tughlaq Cup gone over 1200 metres.

Her victory proved the efficacy of Shahid as the leading jockey in Lahore these days.

The victory capped second successive cup victory in a week for the jockey-trainer duo of Shahid Rehman and Haji Abid Mahmood, who last week capped victory of Hidden Pear in the Major Shabbir Sharif Shaheed (Nishan-e-Haider) Cup over 1200 metres.

The Mian Khan-owned Right One beat Domination by two lengths with Royal Fairy third another three lengths behind.
