KARACHI, Dec 28: Justice Shabbir Ahmed of the Sindh High Court, who is also the administrative judge of the anti-terrorism courts at Karachi, remanded on Saturday Asif Zaheer, an accused in the Sheraton Hotel bomb blast case, in police custody till Jan 6.

Asif Zaheer was arrested two weeks ago by the Karachi police in Kathiawar Society with his two accomplices, Muhammad Yousuf and Sohail Noor.

Police recovered a Volkswagen (A-2951), 250 bags of ammonium nitrate, grinders, silver powder and other explosives and detonators used in making bombs.

During investigation, Asif Zaheer admitted that he had planted an explosive device in vehicle No J-6560, which was used in the hotel bomb blast on May 8. — PPI
