KARACHI, Sept 17: Four persons were injured in a grenade attack on a local office of the Muttahida Qaumi Movement in Gulistan-e-Jauhar on Monday evening, police said.

They said that gunmen riding a motorbike lobbed a hand-grenade on the sector office of the MQM in densely populated Iqra City in Gulistan-e-Jauhar’s Block 17 within the remit of the Sharea Faisal police station.

The police said that four men, including two workers of the MQM, were injured in the attack and were rushed to a nearby private hospital for treatment.

DIG-East Shahid Hayat said that the four people suffered injuries in the attack and their condition was not critical.

Following the incident, tension gripped the locality and all commercial and business activity came to a halt.
