LAHORE: Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday directed Secretary Health Punjab to submit a response pertaining to a contempt of court petition filed against the Young Doctors' Association, DawnNews reported.

LHC resumed the hearing of contempt of court case against the Young Doctors’ Association (YDA). During the hearing, the petitioner argued that the young doctors, disregarding the court’s orders, had continued their protest and therefore committed contempt of court.

The petitioner said that the YDA strike had caused trouble for the patients. Some of the patients lost their lives during their strike, he added.

“The court should give orders to take grave actions against the doctors,” the petitioner pleaded.

Justice Ejaz-ul-Haq of the LHC summoned a detailed response from Punjab government and Secretary Health Punjab by September 25.
