KARACHI, Sept 16: Top three seeded players and an outsider completed the semi-final lineup in the juniors’ under-18 singles of the national seniors and juniors tennis championship at Karachi Gymkhana on Sunday.

The four who propelled into the semis were seeded players Mudassir Murtaza, Kashan-ul-Haq and Hasnain Manzoor and unseeded Mian M. Bilal.

Results: Juniors’ under-18 singles: First round: Mudassir Murtaza bt Hasan Hameed — walkover; Hasnain Manzoor bt Zaid Mujahid 6-2, 6-4.

Quarter-finals: Mian M. Bilal bt M. Ahmed 7-6, 4-6, 6-3; Hasnain Manzoor bt Hasnain Haider (walkover); Kashan-ul-Haq bt Rahat Baig 6-2, 6-2; Mudassir Murtaza bt Malik Hamza 4-3 — Hamza retired.

Boys’ under-14 singles: First round: Jalaluddin Baber bt Ameer Hamza 6-0, 6-0; Haris Irfan-ul- Haq bt Farzan Azhar 6-4, 6-4.

Quarter-finals: Muzammil Murtaza bt Zubair Raja 6-1, 6-1; Marib Malik bt Jalaluddin Baber 6-0, 6-2; M. Raza Sawani bt Bilal Imran 6-0, 6-2.

35 singles: First round: Ejaz Sarhadi bt Tariq Jan Allahwala 6-2, 6-1; Asad Ali Habib bt Amin M. Memon 6-2, 6-1; Nawab Muzaffar bt Tanweer Haral — walkover.

45 singles: First round: Munir Memon bt Khalid — walkover.
